Sept. 14, 2015, 11:24 a.m.
Volkswagen has recently released the official sketch for their next-gen model - Tiguan. It is promised that the new car will be revealed "in flesh" during the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and all Volkswagen aficionados will get more details about the Tiguan.
It is obvious from these sketches that the new Tiguan design was heavily influenced by the popular VW's Cross Coupe GTE. Though the car design was slightly toned down it still impresses. Right now the sketches are transferred to India.
The last-gen Tiguan had never made to India but with the new generation Volkswagen decided to fix this misunderstanding and finally will bring the SUV to India.
Judging from the sketches, the brand new Tiguan will use as the base the MQB platform being a bit longer than the previous model, with short overhangs. The 2nd generation of the Tiguan SUVs will be also at least 80 kg lighter. The upcoming model will be equipped with the 2.0-L TFI diesel unit and the 1.4-L TSI petrol engine. The European markets will also receive the plug-in hybrid version of the Tiguan SUV.
